Whereas William Spencer Son of Saml Spencer Late of Horsham in the County of Philadelphia Province of Pennsylvania Deceased and Elisabeth Lewis Daughter of Ellis Lewis of Uper Dublin in the County and province aforesd Having Declared their Intention of Marriage with each before Several Monthly Meetings of the People called Quaker held att Gwynedd in the said County Owing to the Good Order used amongst them and having Consent of parents and Relation Concernd their said proposal was allowed of by the said Meeting. Now These are to Certifie whom it may Concern ye for -full accomplishing of their said Intention this Twenty fourth Day of the Third month 1733 May the said William Spencer and Elisa Lewis appeared in a Publick Meeting of the said People for that purpose appointed att Gwynedd aforsd and He the Sd Wm Spencer taking the Said Elis Lewis By ye Hand did in Solemn maner openly Declare ye He tody Said Elisa Lewis to be his (by the hand) wife proposing with God, Assistance to be unto her a faithfull and Loving Husband untill Death Should Separate them and then and There in the Sd assembly she the Sd Elis Lewis did in like Manner Openly Declare that She took the Said Wm Spencer to ber her Husband promising with gods asistance to be unto him a Loving a faithfull wife untill death Should Separe them And Moreover they ye said Wm Spencer and Elisa Lewis She according to ye Custom of Marriage Asuming ye Name of her husband as a further Confirmation thereof Did then & there to these present Sett their hand And we whose names are hereunto being present att ye Solemnization of ye Said Marriage and Subscription do as Wittneses thereunto Sett our hands ye Day & year above
